Here's the birthday boy:
Camden likes to crinkle his nose and then breathe in and out, making a fun sniffley noise. This is just a mild version here. (Rebecca, think of Bridgie and Lucie, those Boston terriers you housesat a long time ago, who would breathe so excitedly they flung boogars on you if you were too close.)
Camden does make some great Calvin-type faces.
These aren't angry faces. He's just having fun. Really.
Doesn't he look mischievous here? I love this grin!
Camden is a loud boy. Okay, at first he's pretty quiet in a new place, just looks around and soaks it in. But as soon as he's comfortable, or you start giving him food, the loud exclamations of gladness or sadness or whatever begin.
Camden loves to play outside. Usually, he eats the dirt, but this day he had a lot of fun flinging it on his head. Maybe he's feeling the lack of hair and trying to compensate.
Watering the garden has an enjoyable side benefit for Camden. At first he was confused about the spray of water, but then he decided he liked it. That led to this:
The water is a bit chilly, but why let that stop you having a good time!
Running naked, ah-ah-ah!
He's learning how to eat with a spoon. He has a great success ratio on getting food to his mouth with it, as long as it sticks to the spoon pretty well.
Favorite foods right now are raisins and mandarin oranges and burritos and anything with spaghetti sauce.
We've entered a new age of head bruises. Camden has discovered the joy of climbing!
He only fell on the tile a couple times. He is actually pretty good at climbing off properly, but he doesn't always realize when he is about to dismount, hence the tumbles and head bonking. And he has no trouble navigating the couple of stairs on the exits of our house - going up or down. Very capable is our boy!
He has figured out "putting in", as well as the old favorite - "taking out". It's very cute to see him gather toys and put them all in the bin or try to put movies back on the shelf. Less appreciated is the putting of folded laundry back in the basket.
He'll get measured and all that tomorrow. But happy birthday today!
